Photo-documentation of land art – my handprint in Red mud
Created during the Global Nomadic Art Project: South Africa – “Stories of Rain”
Site: dam at Gecko Creek, Cederberg, South Africa, 2016.
Symbolic of the way we keep ‘grabbing’ minerals, wood, water and other natural resources from the Earth without replacing and replenishing, without supporting nature’s regenerative qualities. My human hand becomes synonym for our damaged relationship to the land.
