Photographic art and prints of landscapes, plants and animals. Many of these photographs were captured with my Pentax K-1000 camera, which my dad bought for me in my first year at technikon (a.k.a. university of technology), on 55mm film. In some of these photos you will see that I double-exposed onto the same frame of the film – a process that often results in surprising and unpredictable results! Pure magic.
Photography plays an integral role in my work. I use photography as the primary method for documenting my process, my land art/in situ work and often also as an act of creation within itself – capturing light, motion, moments, texture and magic – as a way to express and share my view of the world…
My transient creations or ‘land art’ relies on the photographic documentation of the creation itself before it’s reclaimed by the site through the passage of time, the tides, the wind or by decay. My prints are sold in limited editions, and often only exists in the digital realm until it is printed – such as my Organism prints which are stills from a video work.
Please note that I only sell & deliver within South Africa through this online shop. If you’re interested in my work and based outside of South Africa, please contact me.
