These mixed media artworks and paintings were created on wood, canvas, cloth, paper, found objects, or by using different materials together.
Techniques include collage, assemblage and reworked prints, while the creation process consists of painting, inking, sanding, scratching, cutting, and whatever else is needed for the artwork… Often my work entails the use of layering to add depth or texture, emphasize the message, or to achieve the desired effect. Paint is often mixed in studio, with pigments sourced from nature. Assemblage pieces are often created from found objects, offcuts and other discarded materials.
My mixed media work is usually done as once-off pieces, but I’ve also created works as part of thematic bodies of work for exhibitions, such as Wild & Still / Organism.
