Acacia thorns stuck into the skin of my left hand, after which audience members were invited to remove them.

Created/Performed during OPENLab2016, as part of the Programme for Innovation in Artform Development (PIAD), an experimental arts and community engaged initiative of the Vrystaat Arts Festival and UFS – University of the Free State. This residency included a week at MAP (Modern Art Projects) in Richmond.

OPENLab is a bi-annual artist lab led by Paul Gazzola for early and mid-career South African artists who are interested in creating work in the public domain.
