I've always loved taking photographs of places I visited with my family and I somehow always managed to take more images of the landscapes, plants and animals than the people that shared these spaces and places with me. My father bought me a Pentax K-1000 when I started studying in 2003, and later my mother gave me a Kodak Digital Camera. Photography was one of my subjects for my Graphic Design diploma at the Vaal University of Technology. This has developed my love and skills in photography and subsequently I also participated in the Lomography workshop at Greatmore Studios in Woodstock, Cape town in April 2009. Greatly inspired by artists Strijdom van der Merwe and Andy Goldsworthy I have started to use my photography to record my 'Land Art', local art events, and also recently public interventions. |
